From the team behind popular NQ spot, Another Heart to Feed, is The Wayfarer, a new pub that takes over the space left behind by Mecanica. Described as a neighbourhood boozer, the venue will also host regular live music and DJs.

Chi Yip

Chi Yip, an oriental supermarket complete with in-house bakery has opened in Altrincham. Along with its packed shelves of Eastern food ingredients, there’s also a roasted meat counter where you’ll be able to grab fresh duck and char sui pork, and the bakery, which serves up traditional buns and other treats.

Kaya

A hugely welcome addition to the flourishing China Town area is Kaya, a traditional Malaysian restaurant that offers classics like Nasi Lemak, Laska Noodles and Mee Goreng Mamak.

Half Dozen Other

Local artisan bakery, Half Dozen Other, will open its first customer-facing store in the Red Bank neighbourhood this month.

Part of the Pot Kettle Black Group, the bakery specialises in ‘classic bakes with modern takes’, including sweet and savoury croissants, sumptuous Danish pastries and flavoured focaccias.

Inforno

Urmston is enjoying a fine run of openings at the minute, and Inforno is the latest addition to the ranks. Specialising in authentic Neopolitan pizza, the early reviews since opening have been extremely positive.

Diecast

One of the biggest openings of the year, Diecast has gone live with its first phase — LENO Ex Machina.

From the team behind Ramona, guests can dine and party in the former machine works, where the Warehouse Kitchen serves up a new style of pizza which takes the best bits of NYC and Neapolitan pizza, alongside Italian small plates, wood-fired Piadino, Leno burgers and more.

Meanwhile, Rum Ex Machina is dedicated to serving the daiquiri in its variety of forms, complete with 20 frozen daiquiri machines, while the DIECAST Beer Garden & Rum Caravans will offer a new garden party space.

The Old Fire Station

The renovation of Salford’s Old Fire Station is now complete, with the stunning space now boasting a cafe, bar and bakery.

Expect sourdough loaves, pastries and cakes during the day, while in the evening the team say they will have a rotating offering taking over their pop-up kitchen. There are also beers from their own Lark Hill Brewery, just for good measure.

Pray Tell

A new venture from the team behind Altrincham’s beloved Libero is set to open in Sale’s Stanley Square this summer.

Guests can expect an impressive by-the-glass range of easy-drinking natural wines, aperitif-style cocktails and some of the best craft beers Manchester and the rest of the UK has to offer. There’ll also be specialised tasting sessions and a ‘booze school’.
