Wimbledon fortnight is upon us and there are plenty of spots around Manchester to bunker down and enjoy the most prestigious tournament in tennis — from huge outdoor screens to food halls, here are our picks of some of the best…

Society

Not only is Manchester’s beloved independent street food and craft beer hideaway showing Wimbledon this year; they’re set to air every single tie on a big screen for free.

From Mon 3 – Sun 16 Jul, guests can head down to Society – located next to the Bridgewater Hall – and enjoy Pimm’s by the jug, and endless beer selection and their usual food menu, as well as a one-off dessert from the resident pizza masters, Noi Quattro – Angioletti, deep-fried sugared dough bites served with Nutella and hazelnut crumble.

Walk-ins are welcome.

The Lawn Club

Honouring their seasonal nominative determinism in style, The Lawn Club celebrates Wimbledon with a bottomless brunch which includes 90 minutes of free-flowing Pimm’s, prosecco, mimosas, Moretti and more for just £37.50 per person.

Diners can pick their poison and indulge in a selection of pizzas, including The Lawn with tomato, mozzarella, mushroom, peppers, red onion & sweetcorn, or Carne, topped with Bacon, Ham & Salami, or enjoy a classic chicken Caesar salad. For lighter plates, The Lawn Club serves wings coated in BBQ, sriracha and lime or garlic and truffle butter, with bruschetta also available. You can also add strawberries and cream to your brunch for an extra fiver.

Every game will air across multiple screens throughout the tournament.

As an immensely popular haunt for sports lovers around the city, bookings are encouraged for whichever match you can’t afford to miss.

Showing games from 11am-9pm, just turn up, find yourself a deck chair and make the most of Mancunian summer. Along with the outdoor screen, there’s a whole host of family activities to enjoy including giant Jenga and table tennis.
