Strap in for a frantic Friday morning because March 6 is a bumper day for hot tickets. From fresh faces to time-honoured trios, there are four acts on our hit list this week.

JARV IS... | Albert Hall | Tue 5 May | 7pm | Price TBC

Pulp’s spindly showman and raconteur Jarvis Cocker is back in the creative saddle with his JARV IS… outfit, a new album of indie anthems, and a tour to show them off at – which hits the Albert Hall on May 5. Tickets go on sale at 10am on March 6 via AlbertHallManchester.co.uk.

City Centre, 27 Peter Street, Manchester, M2 5QR, Tel: 0161 817 3490
Dayglow | Deaf Institute | Tue 12 May | 7pm | £11

Channeling only positive vibes and pop sunshine is Texan multitasker Dayglow, aka 20-year-old Sloan Struble, whose debut album Fuzzybrain was a word-of-mouth sensation on YouTube. He’s currently scoring around 2.5m listens a month on Spotify so join the revolution while he’s headlining intimate spots, including the Deaf Institute on May 12. Tickets go on sale at 10am on March 6 via TheDeafInstitute.co.uk.

135 Grosvenor Street, Manchester, M1 7HE, Tel: 0161 276 9350
De La Soul | O2 Apollo | Fri 29 May | 7pm | Price TBC

De La Soul mark 30 years of keeping hip hop fresh and fun with their anniversary tour (actually, 3 Feet High and Rising is about to turn 31 but still sounds super fresh). A small O2 Priority pre-sale is now on, otherwise join the scramble at 9am on March 6 via Ticketmaster.co.uk.

Stockport Road, Manchester, M12 6AP, Tel: 0161 273 7785
Genesis: The Last Domino Tour | Manchester Arena | Tue 8 Dec | 8pm | Price TBC

And finally, the first surprise comeback of the decade with the return of original prog rockers Genesis. “Who Genesis?” Ask your mum and dad – they’ll give you a list of names that’ll knock your head sideways: Phil Collins, Steve Hackett, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, Peter Gabriel… It’s fair to say their influence runs deep into bands you probably do know and love, too, including our very own Elbow. Pre-sale for their Manchester Arena show on December 8 starts at 9am on March 5, and the general sale opens at 9am on March 6 via LiveNation.co.uk.
