Don’t miss your last chance during these summer holidays to enjoy some of the amazing family friendly activities the city has to offer before the children and young adults in your life head back to school.

We’ve picked out five of the very best outdoor activities to try in Manchester, including a new Total Ninja course and the North West’s biggest climbing centre.

Hit The Slopes at Chill Factore

Located near the Trafford Centre, Chill Factore is the ultimate super-cool day out — and we mean that literally. Home to the longest real snow slope in the UK, you can go sledding, skiing, tubing, and snowboarding, either by booking a block of lessons to brush up on your skills, or a one-off session for a great day out.

Brush Up On Your Bouldering Skills at Rock Over Climbing

If you’ve always fancied rock climbing and bouldering, or if you’ve got a bit of experience and want to give it a go right here in Manchester, then you definitely need to stop by Rock Over Climbing. It’s the biggest climbing centre in the North West — if you’re an experienced climber, you just need one induction session before you can stop by anytime – and if you’re new to everything, there are classes and courses for beginners.

Skate, Roller Blade and BMX at Projekts MCR Skate Park

Projekts MCR is an outdoor, covered skatepark right in the heart of the city. With both a 400 square metre wooden park and a 900 square meter concrete section, there’s no better place in the city to get into skating this summer. They offer coaching sessions if you feel like you need to build your confidence up a little bit, and have a variety of daily, weekly and monthly passes to suit everyone.

See If You Can Conquer Total Ninja Park

Total Ninja is the UK’s first inflatable Ninja Park, clocking in at 40,000 square feet. Featuring a huge variety of obstacles including the Spider Wall, Jump Tower, Sea of Swings and Tilting Beams, this physical challenge shouldn’t be taken on by the faint-hearted! Inspired by the TV show Ninja Warrior, you can take on the mantle of Total Ninja and attempt to defeat the course…

Zoom, Zoom Zoom at TeamSport Go Karting

TeamSport’s largest Go Karting track is located right here in Manchester, so if you’re a fan of this fast-paced fun sport, don’t miss out on your chance to speed round their 450-metre circuit. They’ve also got a brand new fleet of karts to test your speed (and your nerve), reaching speeds of up to 40 miles per hour — and you don’t even need a driving license to take part. They’ve got two locations — one at Victoria Station and one near the Trafford Centre — so you can pick whichever is nearest you.
