Leeds’ much-lauded psych innovators, Hookworms, will be taking residence at Islington Mill in May for a two-night spectacular presented by the ever-brilliant Grey Lantern and wotgodforgot. Titled The Lost Weekend, each night will see Hookworms take the top spot in one hell of a line-up, curated by the band themselves. Kicking off on Friday, the opening night promises an ‘aural multi-assault’ from London’s Novella, alongside Ultimate Painting – the new project by Mazes’ Jack Cooper and James from Veronica Falls – and Manchester stalwarts Sex Hands. The party then continues on Saturday with motorik rock four piece Cold Pumas, electronic psych trio Vision Fortune, Mazes, Sealings and electronic musician, Will Young (not that one) aka Moon Gangs. Also doubling up as Hookworms’ first show in almost five months, you can bet it’ll be anything but tame.
