Throughout the Easter half term holidays, Jodrell Bank offers extraterrestrial explorers of all ages an escape from the April showers with a fun-filled programme of interstellar entertainment.

Running until Sun 14 Apr, the North West’s world-famous science centre and observatory hosts a series of craft sessions and workshops designed to inspire awe in the next generation of scientists and stargazers. Cosmic kids can embark on a galactic journey of science and creativity with drop-in arts and craft sessions including designing your own rocket, creating paper windmills and making wildflower seed-bombs.

Elsewhere, the live science show Curious Kids transports bright sparks and intrepid young spacefarers across the solar system with captivating up-close experiments and head-scratching trivia with the Kids vs. Adults quiz, unraveling the secrets of gravity and revealing the mystifying wonders of space travel knowledge.

Open now and included in the price of admission, Jodrell Bank’s Easter season presents the last chance to catch the breathtaking Visions of the Night Sky exhibition, open until Sun 14 Apr. Curated to celebrate the the endless wonder of the universe, the installation features a series of night sky portraits by acclaimed astronomer, astrophotographer and Jodrell Bank Observatory’s own Head of Computing, Dr Anthony Holloway, whose breathtaking oeuvre spans a thirty-year career spent gazing at the awe-inspiring constellations scattered across our nocturnal firmament.

Once the kids are back at school, the grown-ups can head back to Jodrell Bank’s Planetarium for the return of the jaw-dropping Pink Floyd show, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the pivotal album Dark Side of the Moon. Billed as a once-in-a-lifetime visual spectacular, the immersive 3D experience charts a spellbinding odyssey into the depths of the cosmos as the iconic record plays in surround sound.
