If the wintry conditions are keeping you in the city this weekend, seize the opportunity to take in some local flavours at Levenshulme’s first monthly market. After the council-run version was dropped last year, traders and volunteers have united to run their own, with over 40 traders offering a range of goods. Up for grabs will be fresh local food and drink, including Mcr Wire favourites, Fire and Salt BBQ (pictured), books and records, as well as a wide collection of antiques and homemade crafts. With entertainment and activities to boot, there’s plenty to get stuck into and many of Levenshulme’s hidden gems and talent to discover. And with the aim to promote businesses and boost the local high street, this is the perfect opportunity to snap up some bargains and support the local area all at the same time.

Sat 23 Mar, shopper’s car park (next to Levenshulme station), M19 3PJ, 10am – 4pm, www.levymarket.co.uk
