To mark the end of the two-week Manchester Food and Drink Festival 2017, the Refuge at the Principal Hotel played host to the annual Manchester Food and Drink Awards last night (Monday 9 October). The shortlist was more diverse – and vegan – than ever before, reflecting the city’s expanding ambition when it comes to street food, casual dining, brewing and culinary creativity. Vegetarian and vegan outfits such as Bundobust and Allotment secured a number of major awards, including Chef and Restaurant of the Year.
