Northern Quarter bar Kosmonaut has launched a new menu in the upstairs restaurant. The Fat Tony’s food offering includes a selection of bar snacks such as sweet potato croquettes, cauliflower cheese, roasted bone marrow with pickles, and the classic runny Manchester Egg. Main courses on the menu include steak and mushroom variants of poutine, each served with handmade chips, gravy and cheese curds, lentil and spiced tofu stew, plus a weekly sandwich special. The burger menu offers a buttermilk fried chicken thigh dish with chicken gravy and winter slaw, a veggie panko potato patty with wasabi mayo, Asian slaw and sweet potato wedges, or classic beef with smoked cheddar, chilli jam and house pickles. Described in-house as ‘a roast rumour, cooked up by a dream’, the Kosmonaut Sunday Roast is also making a return with chicken, beef and veggie options, served with roasted potatoes, honey roasted carrots, savoy cabbage, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing and lashings of gravy. To compliment Fat Tony’s dishes a new cocktail menu has been created to imbibed alongside the fooder, highlights include Along for the Ride (gin, rhubarb, raspberry and prosecco), Rumbongo (rum, apple, pineapple, and passion fruit), Banjos at Dawn (bourbon, apricot, pecan and butterscotch) and Mexican Medicine (mescal, ginger, yuzu and lemon). Pop in to sample the tasty new menu and have an excuse to practice your Italian American accent when ordering Fat Tony’s.
