A monthly farmers’ market with aims to make seasonal food more accessible is set to launch in Manchester.

YAN TAN TETHERA – Manchester Farmer’s Market, a new non-profit initiative, comes from Manchester Urban Diggers, founders of Platt Fields Market Garden and artist Kat Wood, former Creative Director of Where The Light Gets In and Director of The Landing CIC community garden, and Track Brewing Co.

The market will officially launch in January 2026, with a soft launch event to be held at Track Brewery on Sun 30 Nov.

Manchester Farmer’s Market promises to ‘showcase the very best small-scale producers from the Peak District, Yorkshire, and the Lake District’, offering bread, eggs, honey, fruit and vegetables, meat, and more. Each stallholder has a commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming practices that care for people, animals, and the environment.

At YAN TAN TETHERA, Manchester Farmer’s Market, visitors will be able to meet the farmers behind the produce, learn more about their stories and build lasting relationships with the people who grow and make their food.

Stalls at November’s event will include Honey, Companio bakery, Isca Wines, Manchester Urban Diggers fruit and veg, Stockport Provisions (cheese), a farmer selling mutton, a farmer selling eggs and wool, jams and preserves, woodhouse mushrooms and more still to be announced.

“This is a space where people can connect with farmers directly, make conscious choices about what they eat, and help strengthen a fairer, more sustainable food system in Manchester.” say the organisers of Manchester Farmer’s Market.

The market will take place on the last Sunday of every month, starting January 2026.
