With an aim to showcase up and coming bands as well as established artists who have already earned their stripes, the NME Awards Tour with Austin, Texas this year sees Bloc Party headline the nationwide set of dates. After a turbulent past with the departure of Matt Tong and Gordon Moakes, the excitement for Bloc Party’s new lineup is palpable as they are expected to play new tracks from new album HYMNS as well as old favourites. Joining them are rowdy Sheffield-based pair of brothers Drenge and Rat Boy, who can be heard melding punk with hip hop with optimal results. Homegrown grime talent Bugzy Malone rounds up the bill; a fella many have held responsible for starting the grime revival.
