Summer is officially here, and so is the Makers Market which returns to the Northern Quarter’s Stevenson Square this Sunday (12 Jun). There’s a particular focus on art traders this month. Alongside crafts and vintage finds, food includes everything from vegan delights to meat pies, fruit smoothies and locally crafted beers to cakes, chilli chutneys and sauces and street food. Highlights include tarot card readings and fine craft beers from the Brothers Of Beer. Ginger’s Comfort Emporium will be on site serving up the best ice cream in the country (the local trader has taken the top slot at the British Street Food Awards on a number of occasions) alongside Signature Scones and sweet treats from Dormouse Chocolates – Manchester’s only ‘bean to bar’ maker. The Parched Tea bar will be serving hot beverages to those browsing Mark Bird Illustrations, William Broughton Pottery and posters at the Statement Art stall. Explore French Corner’s authentic breads and pastries and swoon over the vintage timepieces at Rewind Watches, all to a soundtrack supplied by DJ Pasta Paul.
