Just when you thought festival season was over, a one-day belter named OMBRA descends upon NQ’s Soup Kitchen to pull you out of that imminent wintry funk. Two homegrown promoters, Comfortable On A Tightrope and Grey Lantern will join forces to deliver a stacked line-up, headlined by Australian electronic artist Carla Dal Forno. Both promoters involved have a reputation of bringing contrasting yet sonically-pleasing acts to our rainy city, having previously promoted shows for the likes of Ultimate Painting, Happy Meals, Follakzoid and Hookworms. This one-day festival is another testament to their keen booking nose and eye for juxtaposition, as the playful post-punk of Vital Idles will warm audiences up for the psychedelic techno of Hiro Kone, before Dal Forno’s glacial yet eerily intense vocals. Of course, with other acts providing aural pleasure in between. Whet your appetite with their YouTube playlist.
