If details about this new show by Phill Jupitus are hard to find that’s, well, because it’s new. Ahead of performing it at the all-encompassing behemoth that is the Edinburgh fringe, the Buzzcocks comic brings his show to the Greater Manchester Fringe to give it a little test run in one of the best pubs in the region. Following the wild success of his show last year – Porky the Poet 17 years on – expect an evening of Jupitus’ humourous verse, usually with anecdotes twice as long, explaining and interpreting them. Back when the Porky character was first aired (28 years ago now), it was largely as support for acts like Madness and Billy Bragg – we imagine that the crowd at this show might be a little easier to win over than those way back then.
