Grab your inflatables – Victoria Baths is refilling its pool for another public swim session as part of the Victoria Baths Swim Weekend. It’s not only offering the chance to get your hair wet either, this two day event also offers fun for the whole family, including art and film workshops, free yoga sessions and live music. The event marks the third time this picturesque Manchester venue has filled its pool for a public swim in the past 26 years, with the added acoustics complimenting the spot’s already-historic and beautiful surroundings. Head down during the weekend and you’ll also find artwork from Islington Mill Arts Academy artists in the Females Pool, including new group-exhibition Six Feet Deep. This collection of work features paintings, drawings, film and performance, each responding to the archives and architectural history of Victoria Baths. What’s more, drop-in event No Time Like The Present lets attendees of all ages experience their own micro-residency. Free yoga sessions for kids and adults will be available on both Sat and Sun courtesy of Yoga With Sally, Manchester Camera Club will be showcasing a brand new photography exhibition, Splash Fiction will be revealing the winner of their short story competition and She Choir and Ordsall A Cappella will be on hand to provide live music. There’ll even be a selection of food and drink available from Victoria Baths Tea Room, Margot’s Pizza and The Ice Cream Ladies who will be whipping up a few cool vegan treats. The best part though, Victoria Baths Swim Weekend is completely free to attend. Dive in!
