A much-loved Stockport pub has reopened its doors following a three-week closure and £400k transformation.

Offerton’s Puss in Boots unveiled its new look after a joint investment from Almond Family Pubs and Robinsons Brewery, who took over the pub 16 years ago.

Architects Fusion by Design, who also worked with the Almond Family to deliver Best New Site nominee The Station House in Cheadle Hulme last year, had a focus on retaining traditional pub character, with soft lighting and layered texture to deliver ‘an elevated feel for customers.’

With almost half a million pounds invested, the entire pub has been transformed, with interiors inspired by the heritage of Stockport. The new bar area is lined with warm wooden panelling, antique mirrors and brass fittings, luxurious new seating has been installed in the dining area, and new flooring has been fitted throughout.

Bateson, General Manager, said: “I’m over the moon with the work that has been completed. Many of my regulars commented that The Puss’ didn’t need a refurb, but we knew it was the right decision. Offerton deserves a community pub to be proud of, and we’ve certainly given them that. The Puss in Boots has always attracted guests from near and far and I’m excited to welcome even more through our doors in the coming weeks.”

James Almond, director at Almond Family Pubs: “It’s been a big project but our joint investment with Robinsons Brewery has been well spent, we have completely transformed the pub, we’re delighted with the finish.”
