Parklife may have upped sticks to Heaton Park this year, but everyone knows the only festival north Manchester truly cares about is Festwich. Returning for a second year to Prestwich’s St Mary’s Park, this free celebration of tribute acts will cater to all your rock and punnery needs. Stand-out band names this year come from Reet Hot Chilli Peppers, Blurb and Higher On Maiden. It’s a two-day extravaganza of superfans being their favourite bands – and it’s a heck of a lot cheaper than the real thing. It’s also a fun family-friendly atmosphere (even if there’s a Slipknot tribute called Knotslip playing) with beer tents and food served throughout the weekend (we really hope these guys show up). It may be free but you will need a ticket to get in, so make sure you get on it fast(wich).

Sat 27 & Sun 28 Jul, St Mary’s Park, Bury New Road, Prestwich, 11.30am – 10pm, FREE (with small booking fee), www.ticketline.co.uk
