Turn your run into a rave this May as Electric Run comes to Manchester for the first time. Described as ‘the world’s premier night-time 5K’, Electric Run swaps the usual dim streetlights for a one-of-a-kind light show, leading runners through a route of different ‘lands’ featuring neon light installations, psychedelic colour patterns and an EDM soundtrack. What’s more, entrants are encouraged to come equally emblazoned in anything that will make you stand out – neon clothing, glow sticks, the lot. Promising to ‘transport the mind, body and soul to a new world in a drug-free way’, grab you friends, your LED accessories and run – or two-step – your way to the finish line together. Book your place before the end of tomorrow (Thursday 20 February) and you get £5 off entry too.

Sat 10 May, Sportcity, Rowsley Street, M11 3FF, opens at 6pm, run starts at 8.15pm, £15-£30 (before 20 Feb), electricrun.co.uk
