Band on the Wall hosts one of only three reunion shows for The Earlies this month. The Anglo-American psychedelic folkies, who also play Cloudspotting festival near Clitheroe in Lancashire the previous week, are known for adding extra musicians to their core four members for live sets, so expect to see some guest appearances from collaborators both past and present. Lancashire’s Christian Madden has been busy with other projects, including forming Tokolosh with Liam Frost and others, and there are plans to record while Texan duo Brandon Carr and John Mark Lapham are in the UK. An EP formulated via transatlantic emails is promised, so keep an eye out for a third instalment to the quartet’s discography – adding to their acclaimed debut album, These Were The Earlies, released a decade ago this year and containing foot-tapping earworms like Morning Wonder, and 2007’s The Enemy Chorus.
