Exciting new renovation plans have been submitted for the historic Weir Mill in Stockport, promising indoor and outdoor activity spaces, café bars, delis, gyms, co-working spaces and areas to host live entertainment. Submitted by social impact developer Capital & Centric, the plans also aim to create a £60 million community, with 253 new one, two and three bed apartments to be built in the riverside location.

Amongst this new housing, Capital & Centric also propose the creation of a new community space, perfect for independent businesses, street markets and even live music events for everyone to enjoy. It’s clear that the long-derelict Weir Mill site is set to not only become a vibrant new hotspot for locals but also for visitors thanks to its proximity to Stockport train station – and it even hopes to introduce new walking and cycling routes connecting directly to the town centre. All in all, it’s certainly something to look forward to and will be a welcome change for Stockport locals.
