Soon to open in the former Oddbins unit on Cooper Street is a little independent business intent on bringing the enjoyment of wine to the forefront of an evening, rather than inaccessible jargon and stuffy service. Set to launch this week (either Wed 20 or Thu 21 Aug), Salut will stock a range of over 300 wines from across the world, which you will be able to enjoy in-house or at home. The wine bar and shop will offer a personal touch too – if you are having a dinner party, or need some wine advice, the staff will help you find your feet and recommend pairings with your meal. If you fancy enjoying the wine selection at the bar – or its mezzanine – you are in luck: Salut will boast a huge range of 42 wines to try by the glass, and the £7 corkage fee means that you can linger over a bottle for less than you might in other places. An Enomatic wine preservation machine will also be installed, to maintain the quality and freshness of 32 by-the-glass wines, offering regulars the chance to top up their gift card and have total freedom of choice across the range. September will see the introduction of wine courses and masterclasses, with the aim of demystifying the world of wine even further, whether that be tasting events or formal qualifications. Salut promises fun, education and enjoyment of one of life’s greatest pleasures.
Opens Wed 20 or Thu 21 Aug, Salut Wines, 11 Cooper Street, M2 2FW, Mon & Tue 10am – 6.30pm, Wed – Sat 10am – 11pm, Sun 10am – 6pm salut.co.uk
