Comedy connoisseurs club Group Therapy welcomes every fan’s favourite vintage in Simon Munnery (pictured), as he presents his latest show ‘Fylm’ to the best crowd in Manchester. Expertly combining live comedy with pre-filmed sketches, Munnery has yet again proven himself to be one of comedy’s great thinkers as well as one of its most abstract performers. Described by Time Out as an ‘avant garde comedy god’, which will sit very nicely on any comic’s poster – and in the brain of every lucky patron who has seen Munnery take over a stage with his beguiling talents. What makes this show (and any Group Therapy event) is the stellar support on offer: this time showcasing the gauche charm of Ivo Graham, a 23-year-old with the mind of a 40-year-old scholar, trapped in the body of a 15-year-old prodigy. Group Therapy is now in its second year of monthly shows at Gorilla – and with line-ups like this there’s every chance they will reach the longevity enjoyed by the likes of XS Malarkey.
