Islington Mill probably isn’t the first venue that springs to mind when looking for Japanese cuisine – but for one night this February you are invited to immerse your palette in the subtle and delicate flavours from Japan at Salford’s favourite art studio, gallery and club venue. Enjoy three courses – including a maki, nigiri and sashimi – that will surely convert the most ardent of naysayers to a love for raw fish. Chorlton’s Out of the Blue will be providing the fresh catches of the day to the mill, and vegetarians will also be catered for provided you let Kim (of Food by Kim catering) know when you book. Spaces are limited so make sure you book right away (by emailing Kim) to avoid disappointment.

Thu 28 Feb, Islington Mill, James Street, M3 5HP, Tel: 0161 278 6404, 7.30pm, £25, www.crackinggoodfood.org
