The clever boys who brought us Damson in MediaCity, Steve Pilling (pictured) and Simon Stanley, are coming back for more with the opening of their second helping to the area, The Dock Yard. This time will usher in a more relaxed affair, concentrating on providing a pub atmosphere with plenty of keg and cask ales, pale ales, beers and ciders, as well as a cracking list of vino curated by Pilling himself. The menu will feature hearty classics like spit roast chicken, homemade pies and burgers handmade by the company’s full-time butcher, Mark Stanley, all of which will transpose the already acclaimed style to the more rustic setting of the pub operation. The Dock Yard will open at the end of October, ready to look after the area’s weary workers all hankering after a good pint and a bit of pie.
