Franklin & Sons’ coveted Top 50 Bars list has been revealed, with Manchester now officially boasting the UK’s number one spot.
In what is the latest in a long, long list of accolades, Schofield’s Bar was awarded top spot in the rankings, as the bar’s national acclaim seems to show no signs of fading anytime soon.
There were several other nods to Manchester, with Blinker featuring sixth in the list, and Speak in Code at 12.
Project Halcyon also ranked at 21, while the recently opened Red Light was recognised in the specialist award category as One to Watch.
The awards’ voters are made up of heads of leading businesses, influencers, and drinks writers who are geographically spread across the UK to ensure no regional bias.
The news follows a strong showing from the city in the Class Bar Award shortlists, in which the entire Northern category was made up of Manchester venues.
