Realistically, there are only two things in life worth striving for: free beer, and to be in the Guiness Book of Records. So, it’s time to celebrate, as Oast House are trying to get into those hallowed pages by breaking the record for largest beer-tasting event – and they want you to volunteer to taste the three specially selected ales. There will be music from acoustic flair, and master of ceremonies Warren McCoubrey will be regaling participants with information on origin, aroma and the bouquet of flavours in the line-up of beverages. The magic number to get past is 267 – and, come on Manchester, if we’re not good at drinking free beer, we’re not good at anything, are we? This should be an absolute stroll in the park.
