In a week of anti-austerity protests in Manchester, Welsh rockers Super Furry Animals are performing a headline gig with special guests Charlotte Church and Public Service Broadcasting at Manchester Academy. The band have recently returned to the stage after several years on the sidelines, joining up with the Music Against Austerity campaign, which has been organised by The People’s Assembly. Not afraid of experimentation, Super Furry Animals have for years been releasing music with an edge of cult, creating psyche rock and electronic tunes accompanied with biting lyrics and imaginative melodies. This special gig will rally activists and music lovers alike in a unique coming together of music and politics. This is one not to miss and is guaranteed to put some energy into your Monday night.
