Every year International Women’s Day seems to grow stronger as more events embrace the celebration of women and those who identify as such. We’ve rounded up just three of our favourites from this year’s IWD.

1. Discounts on female artistry at Affleck’s Palace
There are a number of special deals going on across Affleck’s Palace on Friday to celebrate female empowerment with our favourite being the 10% off all female artists work at Northern Quarter Gallery, who are also currently offering a print of Emmeline Pankhurst by Stan Chow (pictured) to a lucky winner on their socials.
Affleck’s Palace, 52 Church Street, Manchester M4 1PW. See @afflecksfox for more info.

2. Global cinema celebration and more at HOME
HOME will be offering a special weekend of events this International Women’s Day with new film releases, live music, courses, craft and storytelling as well as showing female empowerment in films such as Alien, Maiden and The Kindergarten Teacher.
HOME, 2 Tony Wilson Place, Manchester M15 4FN. www.homemcr.org

3. She Pwr all day party at Deaf Institute & Gorilla
To celebrate the event this year, the Deaf Institute and Gorilla will be teaming up to bring you SHE PWR, an inclusive space that welcomes humans of all genders, ethnicities, sexualities, disabilities and identities with talks from prominent female creatives and entrepreneurs, a maker’s market, art, live music and DJs along with plenty of food and drink. Read our full preview here.
Gorilla + The Deaf Institute, 4pm, £5, www.seetickets.com
