Wordfest 2016 is a festival of the written word, comprised of free talks by authors taking place at libraries across the Trafford area during June. There are science writers, self publishing experts and many more taking part; we’ve picked out three highlights to get you started.
BEYOND CHICK LIT: Jane Costello at Urmston Library
Best selling romantic comedy fiction author, Jane Costello, will talk about her work and changes in fiction aimed at women over the last 10 years.

CRIME FICTION: Cath Staincliffe at Altrincham Library
Cath Staincliffe is the creator of ITV’s Blue Murder and the author of the Scott and Bailey novels. The crime expert will discuss her new book, Half the World Away, as well as crime writing in general and writers she is inspired by.

CULT FAVOURITE: The Death’s Head Chess Club with John Donoghue
Author John Donoghue will talk about his novel, The Death’s Head Chess Club, which is set in Nazi Germany. His talk will touching upon key skills such as how to approach historical research as well as giving an insight into this modern classic.
