Steer clear of cheesy chat-up lines this Valentine’s Day courtesy of the film fanatics at RAD. They’ve themed their previous double bills around Bill and Ted, Patrick Swayze and Back To The Future, so don’t expect a couple of loved-up, soppy rom-coms to wince your way through. The RAD team, who are also involved in the Grimm Fest horror season, have made selections sharper than Cupid’s standard heart-shaped arrows. Between them, True Romance and Natural Born Killers exhibit the edgier bonds that tether relationships, less bouquets or boxes of chocolates and more dodging bullets or backstabbing. Surely that’s better than the latest Richard Curtis flick?
