Award-winning waterside bar and restaurant Roby 1844 has reopened in time for the summer months with a fresh menu and a huge new eating challenge.
Located by The Holiday Inn on Aytoun Street, the two-floor venue’s new food menu is all about sharing, and includes crowd-pleasing favourites like Hummus & Focaccia, Halloumi Fries, Salt & Pepper Chicken, Baja Fish Tacos, Chicken Tenders, Italian Meatballs, Patatas Bravas and the special Roby Burger Slider.
A refreshing new spritz menu is also available. There’s the Rubi Spritz, which features Rhubarb & Ginger Liqueur, Prosecco and Ginger Ale, the Hugo Spritz with Elderflower Liqueur, Prosecco, Soda, Lime and Mint, the Berri Spritz with Raspberry Liqueur, Prosecco and Soda, and, of course, the classic Aperol Spritz. For those who prefer something with a bit more of a kick, the HoneyBee offers a punchy mix of Glengoyne 12yo Single Malt, Honey, Lemon, and Ginger Ale.
Not for the faint of heart, The Big Bird eating challenge packs two crispy chicken breasts, two waffles drizzled with maple syrup, two beef patties with cheese, bacon, and salad into a brioche bun, with three onion rings, an extra-large portion of Roby rub fries, and a pint of a soft drink to wash it all down.
The mammoth creation is priced at £40, though conquer it in 20 minutes and the feast is yours for free, along with ultimate bragging rights and a limited-edition winner’s t-shirt.
Roby 1844 is open every Thu – Sun. Keep an eye on their Instagram for updates and events.
