If word on the street is to be believed, it is Berlin that is the front-runner when it comes to the particular trend of selling vintage clothes by weight alone – shops piled high with clothes to sift and sort through, a place where a worn-out trenchcoat is worth many multiples more than a chiffon slip. However, the People’s History Museum has enticed the UK’s largest Vintage Wholesaler to come to town for one day only, setting up shop on its premises and letting the public have a rummage through their wares. As well as second-hand clothes, there will be accessories – a perfect time to stock up on your essentials. Prices start at £15 a kilo – though if you buy 10 kilos or more, that drops down to £10 a kilo.

Sat 20 Jul, People’s History Museum, Left Bank, Spinningfields, M3 3ER, 11am – 4pm (10am – 11am trade), £1 entry, www.facebook.com
