Terrace is the Northern Quarter’s newest kid on the block, adding its mark on the burgeoning scene of bars and restaurants. Occupying a large unit on Thomas Street, it has a stripped back aesthetic with bare brick walls, reclaimed gymnasium flooring and vintage school furniture to create a kind of austerity chic that oozes cool. The bar itself stretches from Thomas Street right through to Edge Street via a corridor lined with cosy tables, with a large seating area toward the Edge Street side. The bar boasts traditional cask ales including guest beers from the Ilkley brewery (MJ Summit), Hawkshead Brewery (New Zealand Pale Ale) with draught and bottled lagers including Kirin Ichiban, Pacifico and Anchor Porter. Terrace also serves reasonably priced cocktails including favourites the mojito (£6.50) and the Prickly Bramble (£7.50) plus a menu of bars snacks (Wasabi peas, marinated olives and spicy almonds), as well as locally sourced cheese (£10) and cured meat boards (£8). Terrace is being managed by a former employee of the Trof group of bars.
