Waterstones Deansgate is holding the front page in anticipation of Laura Bates’ Girl Up book launch tour. Bates, aka the brains behind the @EverydaySexism Twitter account that has clocked up nearly a quarter of a million followers to date, will make an in-store appearance to mark the release of her follow-up to the bestseller of the same name. On hand to answer fans’ questions and sign copies of her new book, she’ll also be talking about some of the themes of gender equality and media representation of feminist debates through body image, sex, relationships and social media.
