Much to the dismay of many, WU LYF split last year. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, luckily for us they all entered into various new projects, and while singer Ellery James Roberts has gone on to do his own thing, Los Porcos brings together drummer Joe Manning, bassist Tom McClung and guitarist Evans Kati to result in something slightly different. Taking the intensity and political charge of WU LYF’s previous sound but having left it to ‘bake in the midday sun, drenched in tie-dye’, the new style is one that has been taken down a notch to create a more relaxed vibe. Resembling the mood of an endless summer but still boasting beats you can dance to, Los Porcos exhibits a playful and funky energy that will no doubt translate well into a live show – and the band will make their Manchester debut at Kraak next month. This performance will coincide with the release of their new material, Sunshine (below) and C.F.W, and a handful of resident DJs will be on board to help festivities flow nicely throughout the night.
