The Orb at Manchester Academy

This Saturday, the legendary ambient house duo The Orb are playing a very special concert at Manchester Academy. The two-hour show will feature tracks from the band’s first two albums, Adventures Beyond Ultraworld and U.F.Orb. These records helped redefine the boundaries of electronic music and are widely considered to be among the best albums of the 1990s. They also spawned the hit singles Little Fluffy Clouds and Blue Room. Later in the show, bandleader ‘Dr’ Alex Paterson will present a 90-minute performance entitled ‘Orb in Dub’. With over a quarter of a century of innovative music to draw from, this is a show not to be missed. The special guests are Edinburgh-based dance band Fini Tribe, plus Doctor D, an electro DJ from Switzerland.
