All aboard the Levy Walking Tour! Stretch your legs this Saturday and take in the sights, sounds and smells of the suburb affectionately known as Levy. Striding out from the scrumptious food and drink stalls at the popular weekly Levy Market, ramblers will be directed to the nooks and crannies of the South Manchester town to discover fascinating architectural secrets and dig out some of its lesser-known gems. Open to all – from families to seasoned town navigators – the leisurely stroll promises everything from smiles to eyebrow raisers, and will be filled with curios, trivia and knowledge of Levenshulme’s community, past and present, from the home of internationally renowned architect Norman Foster to the modern day antiques village. You’ll be more street smart knowing the location of the infamous ‘Street With No Name’, taking an arts stop at Bankley Studios to check out its Manifest Festival exhibition (read our full preview), and there’ll be fun historical nuggets to impress your friends with, all under the eagle-eyed wing of your genial guide, Peter O’Grady, who’ll make sure you’re returned back at the market wiser and happier.

Sat 11 Jul, Levy Market, behind Levenshulme train station, 11am, £3 per adult, FREE for children, www.levymarket.com or contact Christine on info@levymarket.co.uk
