HomoElectric’s last party at Legends

At least some of HomoElectric’s wild reputation comes from its long-term home, Legends, which is set to close in the New Year. The club’s labyrinthine dens and dark corners have played host to the Twisted Wheel northern soul night (which still runs today) with acts like the Kinks playing live back in the day. It’s probably not been decorated since then, but that’s just part of the charm; this is a place to forget your troubles and dance wild. Aimed at all ages and sexual orientations, the final Homo sees past residents coming back to pop that party in monumental style. Luke Unabomber, Kath McDermott, Philippa Jarman, Ryan Minchin, Kev Beard are names those around in the late-1990s will recall. Performance art from cabaret star Jonny Woo is another highlight, alongside sets from house favourites, Jamie Bull and Will Tramp! Tickets are sold out, but, as ever there will be plenty on the door (if you get down really early!). Set adrift on memory bliss with Will Tramp’s megamix.
