Valentine’s Day: High Fidelity film screening at Band on the Wall

This Valentine’s Day, Band on the Wall are screening a film about loneliness and heartache. The film in question is Stephen Frear’s High Fidelity based on the book by Nick Hornby. A young John Cusack playing a self-declared vinyl obsessive, Rob Gordon, his relationship with long term girlfriend Laura fails. Reflecting upon romance, Gordon slowly comes to terms with the nature of love. With further cast members including Tim Robbins, Catherine Zeta- Jones and Jack Black (in a pre-School of Rock appearance), Cusack is supported well by these actors. Original tracks by the Velvets and Beta Band are complimented by Howard Shore’s score. Throw the roses out the window and enjoy this fan boy classic from the year 2000.
