Stroke/Ceramics Preview at Islington Mill
Artist Niki Colclough launches her latest ceramics exhibition with this event at Salford’s Islington Mill. The event brings the artist into conversation with academics from Manchester University and The Whitworth, and they’ll be talking about Colclough’s work on the Arts for Health programme, which uses the arts to aid the recovery of stroke survivors. The exhibition preview will feature work produced as part of this programme. Booking ahead is required to guarantee entry, due to the capacity of the venue.

Oral History Workshop at Burgess Foundation
Oral histories are an increasingly popular way of telling stories about the past: Assembling the first-hand accounts of witnesses to piece together an event or period, bringing it to life instead of relying on the formal, dead language of archive texts and secondary sources. This all-day workshop, run by Dr. Fiona Cosson of The University of Bournemouth, will give you all the skills and support you need to complete your own oral history project, covering everything from interview technique to sharing your project when it’s finished.
Wed 26 Jul, International Anthony Burgess Foundation, 3 Cambridge Street, Manchester, M1 5BY. 10am – 4pm, www.eventbrite.co.uk
