Gorillaz collaborator Benjamin Clementine will bring his soulful ballads to the O2 Ritz in December. Inspired into a music career by Antony and the Johnsons, the London singer went from busking in Parisian streets to winning the 2015 Mercury Music Prize with debut album ‘At Least For Now’. His second album ‘I Tell A Fly’ came out this year – a concept album about two insects falling in love against a background of life in Aleppo, sea-bound migrants and Calais refugee camps. He also appeared on the Trump-teasing Gorillaz single ‘Hallelujah Money’. December’s Ritz gig, put on by Band on the Wall, is one of the last chances to catch Clementine before he shoots off on a North American tour.
