Manchester clubs of the week ft Discolypso, Red Laser & Swing Ting

Our weekly round up of the best club nights in Manchester includes Masters of Drum and Bass at Manchester Academy, long running night, Hit & Run’s 11th birthday bash at Hidden, a future soul night at Hold Fast in the Northern Quarter, the best in tropical disco at Band on the Wall with Discolypso and Manchester’s hugely acclaimed sound system-inspired club night and record label, Swing Ting at Soup Kitchen this Saturday. Thu 15 Feb / A Broken Camarilla Tape Launch @ The Whiskey Jar / 7pm-1am
A massive roll call of Manchester artists back up a live performance from soul and hip hop outfit A Broken Camarilla, releasing their EP this very night. A cypher tops off the night for those still standing.

Fri 16 Feb / Metropolis Masters of Drum and Bass @ Manchester Academy / 9pm-6am
A large one. Noisia, DJ Guv, Ed Rush, Dillinja, Nicky Blackmarket, Rowney & Propz, Northbase, spinning disco all night long… I jest of course! MCs include Manc legend Tonn Piper, 2Shy, Bellyman and a shedload more.

Fri 16 Feb / Hit & Run 11th Birthday Pt 1 ft Om Unit, Swindle & Iglooghost @ Hidden / 11pm-4am
Om Unit’s development of both his own sound and that of his label Cosmic Bridge has been phenomenal over the past few years, which makes his set for this birthday party a must see. Iglooghost is as unique as they come and recently confused Boiler Room dancers no end, with his from-the-future sounds blowing minds like Marty’s guitar at the Enchantment Under The Sea Dance. Plastician, Commix, Sukh Knight, Black Josh, Metrodome and plenty more round out the night!
