The Marcus Intalex Music Foundation have unveiled plans for a new three-day festival in Manchester made up of live music events, educational workshops, music production masterclasses and more. Running from Friday 22 February, WK:END festival sees some of the best names in electronic music takeover various venues across the city, with weekend passes now on sale, along with tickets for separate events. Yes hosts the weekend’s first party, spearheaded by Fabio, Dub Phizix and Strategy, Zed Bias and local favourites, Swing Ting. On Saturday attendees can look forward to exclusive masterclasses and workshops at the School of Electronic Music and Futureworks, with producers Afrodeutsche, dBridge, Zed Bias, Dub Phizix, Swing Ting and Meat Free offering their expertise. Saturday will also see Gorilla host one of the biggest parties of the weekend with a 2-hour DJ set from Actress, along with appearances from dBridge and Martyn. Band On The Wall will be seeing to the official closing party on Sunday, with DJ sets from Eglo Records co-founder Floating Points and support from Jon K. The Marcus Intalex Music Foundation is a not for profit organisation set up in the memory of acclaimed techno and drum and bass artist Marcus Intalex, aiming “to support and nurture talent in many aspects of music development and its culture”.
