Manchester’s premier drum & bass night Soul:ution has been consistently delivering quality DnB for just over a decade, and this Friday it welcomes DJ Marky back to Manchester alongside founder and resident Marcus Intalex, Eastern Bloc’s DnB specialist Jim Bane and MC DRS. DJ Marky (aka Marky Mark) played the very first Soul:ution in 2002 but has been a heavyweight on the DnB scene since the early 1990s. Having achieved a worldwide reputation as one of the most skilled and innovative technical DJs on the planet, Marky has become a proper DJ’s DJ, with a mixing philosophy that stretches far beyond playing records into real fine-tuned precise turntablism. Marky has released on a catalogue of respected labels throughout his career, including Soul:ution’s own Soul:r, CIA, Human Elements and his own label Innerground Records. This 10th birthday bash for one of Manchester’s most respected club nights should prove to be a seriously unmissable experience for anyone with an interest in DnB or technical DJing, and will likely be a mind-blowing one for those who remain as yet unconverted. Happy birthday to the Soul:ution sound.
