It’s your last week to enjoy some sweet savings at Manchester’s most-loved food spots with the Eat Out To Help Out initiative. In previous weeks, we’ve shared suggestions for the best places to find money-off pizza, coffee and vegetarian food between Monday and Wednesday – and for the final week in August, we’ve pulled together a round up of the best Manchester tapas restaurants offering discounted dishes. As always, be sure to check each venue’s website and social feeds for any fine-print before booking your table – otherwise, enjoy digging into some splendid small plate treats…

Evuna

One of the longest-running and most loved tapas places in town, Evuna has two spots in central Manchester (one in the Northern Quarter and another in Deansgate) and a spot over in Altrincham. With its rustic vibes and relaxed atmosphere, customers can sample a variety of authentic Spanish tapas dishes like crunchy croquettes, salty calamari and a variety of cheeses and breads. However it’s the wine menu that’s of real interest here – with many of its bottles imported directly from Spain.

277-279 Deansgate, Manchester M3 4EW & 79 Thomas Street, Manchester M4 1LQ, Tel: 0161 819 2752 & 0161 833 1130
El Gato Negro

If you’ve wandered down King Street in Deansgate over the past few years, you may have noticed the giant black cat that adorns El Gato Negro’s outdoor canopy. It’s not just a cool city centre oddity – it’s also the logo for this great tapas spot which offers an award-winning array of modern and traditional Spanish small plates. Dishes are inspired by the seasons, with a special emphasis on locally sourced ingredients and with their venue spanning two floors, you’ve got a great chance at getting a walk-up table (although advance booking is advised).

Porta

You’ll find tapas and wine bar Porta in the city centre, Salford and over in Altrincham, with each of their outlets offering up the same mouth-watering selection of Spanish favourites. They’re closed Mondays – which means you only have two days to enjoy their Eat Out To Help Out savings – but once you’ve booked your table, you’ll soon be lost in their expansive menu which boasts options like fresh fried squid, Spanish tortilla and king prawns. So much to eat, so little time!

216 Chapel Street, Salford, Manchester, M3 6BY & 50 Greenwood Street, Altrincham, WA14 1RZ, Tel: 0161 459 7854 & 0161 465 6225
Canto

The younger sibling to El Gato Negro, Canto is an Ancoats restaurant with a real neighbourhood vibe, specialising in Mediterranean tapas dishes and a great selection of wines. Its fast-paced yet cosy atmosphere makes Canto the ideal date night spot – meanwhile, their menu features meat, seafood and vegetable options alongside an array of desserts that are guaranteed to end an evening of indulgence in style.

Elnecot

Okay, okay – this place isn’t really traditional Spanish tapas – but popular Ancoats bar and kitchen Elnecot offers a wide array of small plates inspired by an array of English dishes. You can pair a local legend like a Manchester Egg with charred runner beans or crispy Lancashire roasties – or larger dishes like Yorkshire pork belly and roasted quail. Sample an array to find out what you like best – with their Eat Out To Help Out savings, it won’t break the bank!
