Manchester Collective are celebrating their fifth anniversary by releasing their very first album. Available for digital download from Friday 26 March, The Centre is Everywhere showcases everything that has made Manchester Collective one of the most alluring classical string  ensembles working today and aims to take listeners on a sonic journey through a variety of contrasting emotional states.

The album includes the world premiere recording of Novello Award-nominated composer Edmund Finnis’ titular composition, alongside celebrated American composer Phillip Glass’s String Quartet No.2 Company and Arnold Schoenberg’s Transfigured Night. The end result is a dramatic and compelling listen that’s both epic and intimate – further showcasing a musical troupe working at the top of their game.

Produced by Go Go Penguin and Django Django collaborator Brendan Williams, Björk producer Valgeir Sigurðsson and Manchester Collective’s own Adam Szabo, this new digital release will soon be followed by full vinyl pressing. Meanwhile, Finnis’ namesake track, The Centre Is Everywhere, will form the centrepiece of a brand new audio-visual experience that Manchester Collective will debut at The White Hotel in Salford later this year.
