This all day party (2pm – 11pm) is the perfect spot to kick off the UK’s triumphant return to dance floors. Ilian Tape and Hyperdub bass pioneer Walton tops the bill, ahead of Manchester-based producer Tom Jarmey AKA Ocean Stirs, whose recent album for Dansu Discs is doing the rounds. There’s cheaper group tickets if there’s four of you.
The line-ups for Hidden’s opening weekends are all being kept top secret – but there’s a few announcements popping up which are eye catching to say the least. After a stratospheric rise in the tech-house world, FJAAK are beginning to be recognised in the techno scene for the experimental technicians that they are at heart. This is a rare opportunity to catch the German duo in the intimate confines of Downtex Mill.
Manchester based club night Noire State, who also recently launched their own label, host Swamp-81 and Rinse FM resident Patrice, known for his wide ranging sets of all things bass, beats and breaks. He’ll be playing b2b with a very special guest TBA, alongside Manchester selectors Manny P and Insurrect. Expect grime, UKG and much, much more from 11pm until 3am.
South night club host vinyl-only promoters Wax Format, a trance and progressive event who’ve been going for over eight years. This one’s pretty special, not only is Menno Solo playing all night long, but it’s his last ever tour. The Dutch DJ is hanging up his headphones after 20 years at the top of the trance game. There’ll be tears, hugs, and more classics than you can imagine.
