Inn Time: Eagle Fest at The Eagle Inn, Salford

Tucked away on a small street just off Trinity Way is Salford’s best kept secret: The Eagle Inn. A proper pub from those lovely people behind The Castle on Oldham Street and The Parlour on Chorlton’s Beech Road, The Eagle is about to celebrate its first year of serving its locals fine ales and providing the best jukebox since, well, The Castle’s. A musical streak has always run through the Eagle – the owners comprise two members of local band Beiderbeck, with the landlady herself being the lead singer. With Blueprint Studios just down the way, it has become the go-to place for musicians to enjoy a quick pint in between recording sessions – it’s almost a surprise when a member of Manchester’s music royalty isn’t in one of the snugs nursing an ale. This Saturday sees a mini acoustic festival take place featuring some of Manchester’s best and brightest. There will be organic, locally sourced barbecue food available, drinks offers and hopefully Glasto will share some of its sun. One to watch out for is phenomenal guitarist and vocalist John Ainsworth, championed by Tim Burgess and chosen to support him on tour.
