From the Best of Bond and disco spectaculars to beloved cinema soundtracks and the soaring sounds of America, the Hallé unveils a breathtaking Summer Season guaranteed to set a joyous tone for the warmer months with four unmissable concerts at The Bridgewater Hall.
In celebration of America’s Independence Day, the Hallé invites audiences on a triumphant musical tour of the United States with a programme of timeless arrangements from titans of the stateside classical tradition.
Beginning with Copland’s jubilant Fanfare for the Common Man, the evening sweeps seamlessly through Bernstein’s sparkling rhythmic tapestry and Gershwin’s irresistibly vibrant classics, while Barber’s stirring Adagio imbues the affair with profound gravitas. David Arnold’s unapologetically grandiose Independence Day reintroduces the sound of America’s singular pomp, before Sousa’s titular composition rounds off proceedings with glorious, galvanising flair.

Conductor Stephen Bell leads a suave celebration of Britain’s favourite international super-spy as the Hallé performs the iconic music of James Bond through the years on Sat 29 Jun.
Alongside Manchester’s world-famous musical outfit, vocalists Matthew Ford and Alison Jiear deliver masterful covers of the unmistakeable theme songs which have transformed every Bond film into a heart-stopping auditory adventure, from Thunderball and Moonraker to Skyfall and Goldeneye, as well as No Time to Die, Dr. No, Quantum of Solace, The World is Not Enough, Spectre and many, many more.
The Bridgewater Hall provides a thrillingly atmospheric backdrop to the evening and, thankfully, the only similarities with 007’s adventures on this occasion will be spine-tingling scores and refined attire.
