Book now: Mbongwana Star at Band on the Wall

On the day of the EU referendum poll, Mbongwana Star’s own European tour is set to unify a Manchester audience. With appearances on Jools Holland’s Later… show and a recent collaborative single with likembe-plucking maestros Konono No.1 on their CV, Mbongwana’s various styles, from screaming blues guitar solos and electro synths to afrobeat rhythms, are recognisable far from their native DR Congo. The band have been invited to Manchester by the team behind the Band on the Wall club night Oh Bacchanal!, who’ll man the decks on the night.
